Apple Data Recovery

Sunday, March 25th, 2012

There used to be a time when a device malfunctioned and you just threw it away. Call it a lemon and get a new one – or maybe a better version. When my first cell phone crashed 12 years ago, I simply went to Radio Shack and bought a new one. I asked my 4 friends who also had cell phones to repeat their numbers and that was the end of it.

Not anymore. As technology is becoming more complicated and – at the same time – a greater necessity of our daily lives, the dependence on technological devices has also increased. Errors and malfunctions can no longer simply be ignored or discarded. We fill these devices with data and information that becomes critical to our daily lives. The loss of this information, or merely timely access to it, can have disastrous results on both our professional and personal lives. I am not trying to get on my soap box on this issue, merely stating that this is the way that things are – for better or for worse.

While it is arguably the best technology in the world, and indisputably in the top 5 or 10, Apple has created a host of products that have become ingrained in daily lives. Apple started with computers to compete with IBMs. They would eventually hit gold with the Macintosh models. This would evolve into the IMacs that ran on an OSX operating system that proved to be cleaner and less susceptible (or at least less targeted) for viruses compared to Microsoft Windows. ITunes and the IPod would follow, completely revolutionizing how users obtain and listen to music. The cell phone industry was rocked to its core with the development of the IPhone – which almost instantly made the Blackberry appear to be obsolete. Last year, Apple changed the way that we think about portable computing with the release of the IPad, a simple computing system focusing primarily on media and web programs/applications – the goal being to include most the features that laptop users use regularly while eliminating those that are more rarely delved into (all incorporating into a touch screen interface).

Despite all these successful and quality products, even Apple’s products are not beyond having errors and malfunctions. When these machines crash, large amounts of music files, pictures (jpegs), personal data, work documents, or other information may be at serious risk. Apple products are no more immune to needing data recovery than those of most other technology industry giants.

If you need data recovery for an Apple product, bear in mind that (for good reasons) Apple runs its computers on a different operating system than most companies. This does not mean that it is more difficult to recovery items from an Apple device, only that it is done a little differently compared to most recovery processes. Therefore, should you need data recovery for an Apple product, it is important to make sure that the company you are using for the recovery is adept at handling Apple products. Simple research on their qualifications and past experiences should suffice.

How To Set Up Your New Apple IPad

Sunday, March 11th, 2012

With the holiday season starting in just a few weeks, there is already a big holiday buzz about the Apple iPad. The iPad is bound to be one of the most popular holiday gifts this season. Whether you are looking for an electronic book reader, the latest apps, a portable media player, or just a fun new gadget, the iPad will be making its debut in many households this December.

Getting a new piece of technology can be a lot of fun. Brand new iPad owners posted entire videos on You Tube featuring them doing nothing more than opening the box. The unboxing ceremonies became a huge hit on the Internet. Now that you have gone through your ceremonial “unboxing”, it is time to use iPad. If you aren’t familiar with Apple iPods, iPhones, or most technologies, this could be a very frustrating task. Fear not as I am here to help show you how to set up your Apple iPad for optimal performance.

The first thing you want to do after your iPad unboxing is to connect your new baby directly to your computer with the USB cable. Open your iTunes software once you are connected to the computer. If you don’t have iTunes, you will want to download it before you connect your iPad. iTunes is free fairly easy to set up.
Once your iPad is connected to your iTunes you will be asked to register. This may be where you experience your first hiccup in the process. If the iPad is not connected properly it is likely your version of iTunes is out of date. Just go ahead and update your iTunes and you should be fine upon restart.

You will be asked to register your iPad once iTunes recognizes it. Make sure you register because if something goes wrong with your iPad, you may be delayed in receiving a remedy from Apple if it isn’t registered. So go ahead and register your iPad.

Next you will be asked to restore your iPad to its original state or set up your iPad as new. Obviously this is a brand new iPad so you want to choose the option which lets you “Set up a new iPad.” Keep in mind if you do want to restore the iPad it could take quite awhile. So in the future if you do have to do a restore, make sure you set up your restore at a time where you don’t need immediate access to your iPad.

The next step will be to sync your media. You will be asked to set up iTunes so it automatically syncs. I choose not to do this with any of my Apple devices. If there is one fault with the iPad it is that the iPad apps are huge and you will fill up your iPad fast. So choose carefully when it comes to syncing your media. If you have a ton of movies in your iTunes, you may want to only sync the movies or videos that you intend to watch right away. Otherwise you are going to fill up your iPad quick with a bunch of files you won’t be using in the immediate future. My recommendation is to sync your media manually so you can pick and choose what you want on your iPad.

Email set up is one of the easiest things to set up on the iPad. It is as simple as selecting your email program, entering your login information, and then you are good to go.

I would also recommend taking some time and searching the Internet for Apple iPad tricks and tips. There are a ton of really cool things that some iPad users have done with the device. There are things you would never dream of that some people have figured out and posted step by step tutorials online for new iPad owners like you.

Now you are set up to receive email, download apps, and watch your favorite media on your new toy. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the wonderful world of this amazing piece of technology. It will change your life and before you know it, it will be time to make a race to the store for Apple’s next version of the iPad.

Why Technology Designers Should Embrace Apple’s Design Concepts

Wednesday, March 7th, 2012

There is always a reason why consumers are drawn to a particular brand of product. Apple has the record for drawing people in, and not just Americans, why?

Ease of use, that’s why!

You need to understand that the exterior design alone is not the only reason Apple products are still at the forefront of the world’s multimedia technology. Hidden designs and also compatibility of the products software and hardware within Apple’s iPod and Mac have really helped to achieve this.

Compatibility? This simply means that the users of Apple products really get to enjoy using the product and truly have a trouble-free experience. For example; the design of Apple Mac OSX offers a fast and very logical operating system, which truly surpasses Windows Vista in almost every area – No wonder the character, Carrie Bradshaw of the show, Sex and The City, preferred to write her column pieces using an Apple Mac.

The ease of use even extends to the software that is known to come with the purchase of every Apple Mac, such as Safari web browser. Safari’s function does not stop at finding information very quickly from the internet, it is also known to:

- Keep up with the newest web technology
- Help to organize your data
- Assist you in distinguishing one item from another.

Apple’s Safari is known as the number one web browser in the world, and the recognition of other software from Apple such as the iLife suite applications, is to a degree because of the constant revisions. One of the great things about Apple’s software specialist designers is that they never wait for things to happen first! They are constantly searching for different ways to keep developing and improving. The users of Apple Mac are always confident that their software is up-to-date.

Even the Apple iPod designers do not give it a rest! The latest design improvements include the Apple Genius, which is known to automatically create playlist of songs that effectively match the accelerometer – this makes games much more fun to play and provides the Apple iPod Nano with its 3D graphics and shake to shuffle feature

The Apple iPod touch has a very outstanding Multi-Touch screen that happens to be a major design all by itself. Multi-Touch is also used on Apple laptops too.

The Design Concepts of Apple

Have you ever wondered about the design concepts of Apple? Most of the time, consumers find themselves drawn to Apple products, why is this so?

The Apple products sleek lines

There is absolutely no doubt that one of the most thrilling design concepts introduced by Apple is the Unibody. This design is the enclosure for the following:

- The 15″ MacBook Pro
- MacBook Air
- The new MacBook

The Apple unibody starts off as a piece of aluminum, after using computer numerical control (CNC) milling apparatus, Apple designers create a computer laptop casing designed to accommodate a keyboard, ports, track pad, interior electronics and display – leading to a robust and lightweight result. The MacBook aluminum only weighs 2.04kg (that is 4.5 pounds). So what is so great about that? Weight is a big deal for what needs to be a portable laptop that is packed with a whole lot of features! It is still a little bit heavier than the MackBook Air, which is brilliantly thin and only weighs 1.36 kg (that is 3 pounds). These two Apple laptops, along with the Apple MacBook Pro are all known to catch the eye of consumers thanks to Apple’s engineering perfection and style.

The Apple unibody design really looks like a simple concept to conceive, but it is quite difficult to pull off in practice – this is the reason why a lot of laptop manufacturers are known to manufacture laptop casings from separate parts, thus allowing room for error. The Apple unibody must be very precise in every way or else the interior components will not fit.

Apple is known for thinking out of the box. Another fine example of this is the Apple iMac, a desktop computer famous for holding its technology behind the 20″ and 24″ wide screen display. The Apple iMacs casing is known to be a single sheet of aluminum, that is, aside from a compartment which is located at the bottom of the computer which gives access to memory cards. The ports of Apple iSight camera, optical slot, microphone and other inner parts are discretely incorporated. All together, they offer a very powerful computer that does not take up much space compared to other PCs.

Top Reasons to Own an Apple Mac Instead of a PC

Wednesday, March 7th, 2012

When people are looking to buy a new computer, whether for work or home use, they tend to opt out of buying an Apple Mac. Choosing Mac is perhaps one of the most wonderful computer investments you will ever make. There are a lot of companies that offer them at very affordable rates; comparing prices will of course save you a lot of money.

Many people who later decide against purchasing an Apple Mac because they are afraid that they may not to connect with others, because they erroneously feel that a Mac is not compatible with other systems.

You will discover that one of the biggest problems faced by people, who would love to buy a Mac to replace their computer, is that they are unsure as to whether they will be able to conveniently transfer data from their old computer to the new one. This is certainly no longer a problem; Microsoft has now allowed their “Office Programs” to be effectively applied to Macs.

Users also have the opportunity to conveniently access other types of popular software programs too. These days you will discover that Macintoshes also come with these three:

- Adobe Photoshop
- Access to iTunes
- MSN Messenger

If you find out that there are certain files you have on your old PC and your Macintosh does not seem to have the application to use them, fret not. There are lots of programs which are available that can assist you in transferring the files that are quite common for different types of computers to your Apple Mac, utilizing the right type of application.

You need to understand that there are certain programs i.e. Microsoft Publisher (which usually does not allow users to convert their files into an Apple Mac format) – thankfully, Apple has corrected this problem. These days, all the Intel based Apple Macs will allow users to boot up directly into MS Windows and allow users to make the required changes from Microsoft Publisher into an Apple Mac Application instead.

So you see you can get an Apple Mac, not only because it is beautiful and lightweight, but because it will meet all of your requirements whether you are using it at work or at home.

Apple Mac – A Graphic Designer’s Best Friend

It is very common to find that top graphic designers and advertising agencies use Apple Macs. Even though a lot of people in the country are using PCs, the Apple Mac still holds its own against all odds.

Why?

An Apple Macintosh is known to work a lot better;

- The operating system of the Apple Mac is 99% resistant to all types of known viruses and so rarely becomes infected.
- An Apple Mac can never be cloned! A Mac is simply Macintosh, period.
- The Macintosh is also known for handling very large and quite complex graphic files, far better than a PC.
- Apple Macs are known to be a lot more reliable than PCs.

Many companies believe that PC programs, such as PowerPoint, Word, Publisher, Excel and so on, are great for offset printing; the truth is that they are really not. Why? These programs are really good for low resolution output to PC screens, copiers and network printers, but when you attempt to process them through an image setting equipment that is used for high-end offset printing, the result is something you would not want a third party to see.

Most graphic designers have experienced the following problems in the past;

1. The colors from any MS software are produced in red, green & blue (RGB) and not in cyan, magenta, yellow & black (CMYK). This of course, is really not suitable for process printing for a 4 color. While the file can be converted, the color quality will suffer.

2. The page size in United States software is totally different to Austrian sizes and there are always text flow formatting issues.

3. The graphics that are created using MS software are usually low resolution. This means that when they are printed using the offset method, the result is highly pixilated graphics.

In order to avoid these problems, the best thing to do is to ensure that you invest in an Apple Mac – this is of course going to help you avoid wasting both your money and your time.

You also need to understand that a lot of die-hard printing companies and graphic designers are known not to take anyone who uses a PC to create artwork files seriously. A lot of experts in this field advise that graphic designers invest in an Apple Mac.

Apple IPad – Will It Deliver What It Promised?

Friday, February 17th, 2012

‘Innovative and incredible’ are two best words typifying the Apple’s all new IPad which is soon expected to be the buzz word of the next generation. There are many speculations about its new release recently and expectations are even higher. No doubt, Apple has always contributed excellently to the technology world. iPad is all set to create another milestone for Apple and add a feather to its cap. Below are the distinguishing and attractive features of the iPad. There are also some features which if included would have made the upcoming Apple iPad more exciting. But it all depends on the user. So at last it’s up to you only to decide whether Apple iPad will deliver what it promised or not.

The gorgeous black display screen is eye catching and the aluminum body bordering gives the iPad an amazing look. The buttons are smooth to touch and give the user an awesome feeling while working on it.

The hype about Apple iPad is obvious due to the features like light weight and thickness of 1.5 inches. This tablet is considered to be the sequel to iPhone providing all features including digital photo frame, video player, office applications and lot more.

The multi-touch technology used in its architecture makes it stand out in the market. E-book lovers would love to download their favorite books on the Apple iPad. The best part of it is that it gives the reader the feel of reading an original book. There is no point of strain to the eyes at all. Thumbs up for iPad when it comes to ease of reading.

Critics believe that the iPad could have included multitasking features to increase the popularity. Moreover, one cannot use the iPad like a mobile phone, not even for sending SMS which makes it a bit awful. The user interface of the Apple iPad could have been still better. The main feature it lacks is the absence of support for flash player.

The price of Apple iPad is awkward and far more than it’s worth, say many critics. The “Giant” iPhone simply does not allow you to browse to attractive graphics websites, which makes it a “NO-NO” for netizens. There are no USB ports and the absence of GPS makes it a great disappointment.

Although the bad-side of Apple IPad is more obvious, the fan-boys still love the buzz about this impressive gizmo. The speculations about it are sure to become reality as Apple has always brought out the best and delivered to the tech world what it has promised. ‘Judgment comes out of experience’- if you want to understand the entire heck about the Apple iPad, it is best to get one for yourself. You can place a preorder for your Apple iPad which due to release in next April. You are sure to conclude that Apple iPad is here to stay. It is not here to compete but the tablet has already won the competition. The verdict lies in your hands.
