Dell Studio XPS X1340-024B Features and Review

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

Though there are many laptop manufacturers in the market Dell is known for its reliability and quality in their products and they maintain the same in all their products. It is really hard to pin point any mistake in their products as they will do high intense testing before releasing any product. Yet another sensational launch from Dell is XPS X1340-024B which comes under Dell’s STUDIO laptops category. This is again a gift to all who loves to have high-end graphics system in their machine. Let us peep in and see some of the attributes of this laptop,

Design:

Dell made sure that this model will also be released with a unique design as they will always do with their releases. Laptop looks sexy with full black as its color and a silver line across the machine adds more cream to the look. Silver line is a good initiative from Dell but still there are people who are against this kind of design i.e. line or stripe in the laptop.

Features:

This ultimate gaming laptop comes with Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 Processor With 4GB DDR3 SDRAM. To support all graphics formats the machine is in-built with Nvidia MCP79 Graphics Card. This can be used to store loads and loads of files and also install various high level applications since the laptop has 500GB of hard disk space in it. Windows VISTA HOME PREMIUM is the Operating System present in the machine.

Review:

Latest Blu-ray device is present which plays almost all file types but still the heat emitted during the operation of a disk is quite high when compare to other HP/SONY laptops. X1340 is provided with a 13 inch screen which makes the surfing experience a pleasure as this X1340 gives a real look for all the pictures/videos with its 1280 X 800 Pixels resolution. WI-FI is also provided which can be switched ON using a single button. Web cam is present slightly above the screen which helps in Voice chats and also one can use the face recognition software present in the model instead of typing the password each and every time. This face recognition software is provided by Dell but it is present only in high level models of Dell but HP provides it in all the laptop models, so is this face recognition software alone costs $100-$120? This question is obvious among all the users. Weight is around 5.1 Pounds while Mac book pro with almost the same features weighs comparatively less then X1340. Data Transfer rate is quite good and a four-pin FireWire port is present along with an eSATA port which makes data transfer at a fast rate. If a comparison is made between other laptop models from other manufacturers X1340 is bit costly than others i.e. $100-$120 can be saved if other laptop manufacturers are chosen.

Pricing:

Official pricing of Dell is $899 but of course it may vary in different countries.
There is no doubt that Dell’s laptops are always reliable in all the terms but still cost is a factor that has to be taken into account before considering it. If $100-$120 is not a big deal then one can definitely go for XPS X1340 as one can get a good quality laptop.

A Simple But Powerful Intorduction About 4G

Friday, March 12th, 2010

Sometimes we never know where we are heading towards and even we will lose us in the way. Technology has made this kind of impact on us and it is continuing to do so as well. Mobile and internet communications became unavoidable things in day to day life and even people are becoming mad because of the two. 3G was the latest sensation in the industry which made a wave among the people and even before that wave disappears another invention is emerging out. It is nothing but the well known 4G Evolution.

What is 4G?

Fourth Generation is shortly referred as 4G and it is the follower of 3G.

It is strongly believed that 4G will make a big revolution in the world not by its technological advancements but by its demand. People even started dreaming about it right now so there is no doubt that the market demand will be more in the future. Big countries like U.S.A, Russia and Emerging countries like Asia, china are expecting very high data transfer rate in the next few years and they strongly believe that 4G is the only means to cope up with all things. 4G inaugural meet held in the year 2009 and the latest speech by the U.S president also projects the same. 4G will satisfy all the transfer needs in the future by providing ultra-speed for all data transfers i.e. it is expected that speed will be in gigabits/second.

Technology Used in 4G:

4G uses Flash-OFDM which is nothing but the WiMax and HC-SDMA.

4G Offers:

It is designed such that it gives support to:

1.IP telephony

2.Ultra-Broadband Services

3.HDTV

4.Live Video Streaming

5.Large Transfers

6.Gaming Services

Fourth generation (4G) is designed in such a way that it meets the demands of mobile services more than any other things however data transfer rate is also considered.

4G is expected to combine two steps together i.e. connecting to a network and to the mobile devices so with this type of technology advancement a open service provider like Google can provide their service to its customers in mobile. 4G also combines Radio Transmission Technologies i.e. RTTs in one single device which means you can use your smart phones as like a laptop now. All the smart phones will go under open wireless architecture (OWA) which is straight against the closed one now. So this makes sure that the whole world is in your hand and it is pretty simple as well.

Constraints Predicted for Launching 4G:

It is a very good thing that the entire world is moving towards 4G but the fact is that even 3G is not implemented fully in all the countries. Economy is the main constraint to do so and even developing countries like china and India implemented 3G pretty recently. Technical adjustments by the service providers in these countries were also a problem when 3G launched initially and this is expected to be in high rate for 4G.

Let us all keep our fingers crossed that world will witness 4G soon in all nook and corners.
